Manitoba Agriculture offers a variety of educational resources about food safety practices for food processing establishments.
These resource materials come in a variety of formats, such as food safety posters, cards, guidelines, or booklets, making it easy to use for different purposes. For example, you can use food safety posters around your establishment to remind employees about hand washing practices.

The “DO IT RIGHT” food safety cards focus on best practices involving sanitation, hand washing, equipment storage and pest control.

Available food safety posters cover topics about cross-contamination prevention, manual dishwashing, sick employees, temperature danger zone and hand washing.
Food Safety Programs
Food safety programs are increasingly becoming a customer and regulatory requirement. Companies of all sizes are adopting food safety programs to meet these expectations and demonstrate their commitment to safe food production.
- Basic Food Safety Programs include personnel practices and sanitation programs. Resources include a guidebook and electronic templates designed to support processors implementing these programs.
- Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP are food safety best practices that make up a food safety program.
- Food Safety Management Systems incorporates food safety practices with additional management requirements and in some cases food quality aspects. Examples include: ISO 22000 and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards.
- Food Safety audits, which provide objective evidence that food is produced in a safe environment.
