Provincial Crop Diagnostic Lab
The Crop Diagnostic Lab assists growers in identifying diseases, weeds and insects of agricultural and horticultural crops.
Identification and diagnosis of agricultural samples from Manitoba are free of charge.
For non-agricultural submissions such as home gardens, trees or ornamentals there is a fee of $10 + GST per sample. Cheque or cash payment only.
Samples can be submitted to one of the AGR/MASC Service Centres or to the lab at 545 University Crescent, Winnipeg, MB. Contact the lab at (204) 945-4825 or crops@gov.mb.ca.
Remember to include a completed identification or diagnostic submission form with each sample.

Updates to testing progress or lab submission results will be available within 7 working days from when the sample was received at the lab. Results are sent to email address provided.
Crop Diagnostic Lab provides visual assessment only for symptoms of chemical injury. A lab that does herbicide testing would be recommended for confirmation of type and quantity of chemical exposure, if required.
